“One opportunity can change everything”: a campaign that highlights the power of first opportunities

At Fundación Exit, we have launched the campaign “One opportunity can change everything”, an initiative through which we aim to highlight that behind every personal and professional journey there is always a first opportunity… someone who believed, who opened a door, who made a beginning possible.

We strongly believe that these opportunities should not depend on chance. However, many of the young people in vulnerable situations we work with do not have access to them. That is why this campaign seeks to inspire, raise awareness, and mobilise society around their importance.

The entire initiative has been developed through Instagram, where we invited influential figures from different fields to share their origin stories through posts and stories, generating conversation, reflection, and reach around the value of opportunities.

Figures who have shared their story

In this campaign, we have been fortunate to count on the generous participation of influential figures from different fields who joined the initiative by sharing on Instagram their personal stories and gratitude towards the person who gave them that key opportunity that shaped their career.

We would especially like to thank them for their involvement, closeness, and generosity in recognising those who played a key role in their early professional journeys:

  • Pep Guardiola, a global football reference, first as a player at FC Barcelona and currently as manager of Manchester City,
  • Cristina Oria, entrepreneur in the gastronomy and hospitality sector,
  • Flora González, journalist and media communicator in television and broadcasting,
  • Danae Boronat, journalist and presenter specialising in sports coverage.
  • Vanesa Lorenzo, Spanish model, writer, and entrepreneur, a reference in the international fashion world.

Their posts have helped convey a very powerful message: one opportunity can mark the beginning of everything that comes next.

The campaign has been very well received on Instagram, where we have managed to amplify the message and generate conversation around the importance of opportunities, with more than 500,000 views and over 18,000 interactions.

In addition, the story-based activities invited personal reflection on the first opportunity people received. Among the responses shared by the community, some of the most notable include: “my first internships”, “my boss at ABC Punto Radio gave me a microphone, let me create, think and write, and took me to places”, “my first boss who, without experience, trusted me and marked the beginning of everything”, “my first opportunity was: ‘let’s see how you do’ and it went well”, or “a teacher who saw my interest in reading and included me in a project”.

We continue to believe in the power of opportunity

This campaign reminds us of something essential: a single opportunity can change the course of a life. That is why, at Fundación Exit, we continue working to ensure that more young people can access real experiences that bring them closer to their professional future.

Because when someone believes in you, everything can begin. And because, indeed, one opportunity can change everything.
