The Coach Project evolves: a new approach to supporting young people’s professional futures

Fundación Exit

At Fundación Exit, we are adapting the organisation of the Coach Project for the 2026–2027 academic year, with a single annual edition running from November to April in Barcelona and Madrid.

At Fundación Exit, we work to help young people get to know themselves better, discover their professional interests, explore the world of work and make informed decisions about their future. To support them throughout this process, we run our Guidance Programme, which brings together different experiences to help them identify their skills, broaden their horizons and define their next steps.

That is why, at Fundación Exit, we continue to develop the Coach Project, our corporate volunteering initiative that connects young people experiencing social vulnerability with business professionals who support them throughout their academic and career guidance journey.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, we are introducing a change to the project’s structure: all activities will take place within a single annual edition, running from November to April. Under this new schedule, the programme will consist of six face-to-face sessions combining personalised support with opportunities to discover the business world.

Six sessions to discover, learn and move forward

Through the Coach Project, we pair each young person with a company volunteer who acts as a role model and supports them throughout the process. Through conversations, reflective activities and direct contact with professionals, we help young people broaden their understanding of the world of work, identify their strengths and explore new possibilities for the future.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, we have structured the programme into six sessions, each with a specific objective:

1. First meeting: We facilitate the initial meeting between young people and volunteers, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other, establish the foundations of their relationship and prepare for the following sessions.

2. Company introduction: We introduce young people to the structure of an organisation, its departments and the roles and responsibilities within it.

3. Sector of interest: We give them the opportunity to explore the professional fields that have sparked their curiosity and learn first-hand about the work of other professionals.

4. Human Resources Department: We develop transferable skills such as communication, emotional management, self-confidence and critical thinking.

5. Personal development goal: We support each young person in setting a short-term goal and creating a roadmap with concrete actions to achieve it.

6. Closing event: We share the lessons learned, reflect on the journey together and celebrate the completion of the programme.

Corporate volunteering as a bridge between young people and businesses

Volunteers are a fundamental part of the Coach Project. Through their experience, knowledge and support, we introduce young people to professional environments they may not yet be familiar with, broaden their range of role models and help them explore new educational and career opportunities.

At the same time, we offer professionals the opportunity to get directly involved in guiding young people and helping build bridges between the education system and the business world.

With this new structure, we remain committed to guidance that reflects the realities of the labour market and puts people at its centre. We want young people to discover different professions, recognise their abilities and find role models who can help them make informed decisions about their future.
