The 2025–2029 Strategic Plan of the Exit Foundation is a roadmap that reinforces our commitment to reducing early school leaving and improving future opportunities for young people in situations of social vulnerability.

With this new plan, we take another step in our mission: completing the circle of guidance by supporting young people from discovering their vocation to their first experience in the labour market, more closely connecting the education system with the business ecosystem.

A context that demands action

The current context remains marked by important structural challenges: high rates of early school leaving, a mismatch between education and labour market needs, and a growing demand for mid-level profiles that Vocational Education and Training (VET) does not yet fully cover.

In addition, we face a constantly evolving labour market, where many of the jobs of the future are not yet defined, making it essential to strengthen guidance and the connection between education and business.

An integrated guidance model

The new plan promotes an integrated guidance model that allows young people to progress through four key dimensions:

  • Self-awareness
  • Exploration of the labour market
  • Professional experimentation
  • Decision-making

This approach aims to provide real-life experiences that help young people discover their talents and make clearer decisions about their academic and professional futures.

Two main lines of action

The Strategic Plan is structured around two fundamental pillars:

1. Guidance through corporate volunteering

We promote experiences in which professionals from companies support young people in their guidance process, offering real role models from the working world and helping them broaden their professional horizons.

2. Dual training in companies

We promote training placements in real work environments for students in basic and intermediate VET, facilitating direct connections with sectors with high employment demand and strengthening the relationship between schools and businesses.

The goal is clear: that every basic and intermediate VET classroom can have a major involved company and an ecosystem of SMEs offering quality internship opportunities.

 3. Strategic axes 2025–2029

The plan is structured around three main axes:

  • Training placements in companies (Dual VET): expanding learning opportunities in real work environments.
  • Focus on strategic sectors: directing activity towards areas with high employment demand.
  • Triangular collaboration model: strengthening the connection between schools, companies, and the Exit Foundation to support young people throughout their educational journey.

In addition, innovation and impact measurement are key elements for continuously improving programme effectiveness.

A shared purpose

With this new Strategic Plan, at the Exit Foundation we reaffirm our commitment to equal opportunities and to building a more connected system between education and employment.

The final goal is ambitious but clear: to reduce early school leaving and ensure that every young person has access to experiences that allow them to build a future with more real opportunities.
