Believe in yourself and don’t stop until you succeed

I didn’t used to believe in myself. When something wasn’t working out for me, I said, ‘that’s it, I can’t do it anymore, I quit’, and I gave up. But Emma has shown me that you have to believe in yourself and not stop until you succeed.

Which young people do our programs target?

At Fundación Exit, our programs are aimed at socially vulnerable young people who need support to continue their training or access employment.

We work with them in three main areas:

  • Orientation: with students in Basic Vocational Training and PFI (Training and Insertion Programs), who are usually between 16 and 21 years old and are at risk of dropping out of school early.
  • Specialization: with young people in vocational training, to help them improve their skills and employability.
  • Insertion: through the Incorpora Program of the “la Caixa” Foundation, which facilitates access to the labor market and accompaniment in the search for employment.which facilitates access to the labor market and accompaniment in the search for employment.

Our objective is to accompany each young person according to his or her educational stage, so that he or she can continue his or her education or improve his or her chances of finding a job.

What is Speed Dating Reverse and what does it consist of?

In our job orientation program we develop the Speed Dating Reverse, an activity in which we invert the usual format of quick interviews.

Instead of the young people being interviewed, it is company professionals who introduce themselves and explain their work history in short, one-on-one meetings. The young people rotate through different tables and have the opportunity to listen, ask questions and learn about different professions and real experiences in the world of work.

With this activity we seek to help them explore the labor market, discover vocations and reflect on their professional future through direct contact with people from the business environment.

How long does our accompaniment last?

At Fundación Exit our accompaniment varies according to the program, but in all cases we maintain it as an ongoing process throughout the intervention with each classroom or group of young people.

  • In the Integral Job Orientation program, we accompany you throughout the entire orientation itinerary, from the beginning of the process until the academic and professional decisions are made.
  • At Escuela-Empresa, we monitor the entire period during which the students participate in the combined training between the educational center and the company.
  • In the Employment program, we continue to provide support during the job search and also at the beginning of job placement, to facilitate adaptation to the position.

Together, we accompany young people on an ongoing basis as they participate in each of our programs.

What does the Employment Program – Incorpora Program of “la Caixa” Foundation consist of?

In the Employment Program of Fundación Exit our objective is to help young people in situations of social vulnerability to access the labor market.

To this end, we accompany young people in their job search process, offering guidance to improve their résumé, prepare for interviews and develop their personal brand. We connect young people with real job offers through the collaboration with companies and the “la Caixa” Foundation’s Incorpora Program of the “la Caixa” Foundation..

We also provide follow-up and support throughout the job placement process to facilitate their incorporation into the labor market.

What does corporate volunteering consist of?

At Fundación Exit we promote corporate volunteering as a way to connect business professionals with young people who participate in our academic and professional orientation programs. Through different initiatives included in our Integral Orientation Program, volunteers share their experience and accompany young people in their personal and professional development process.

Depending on the activity, the level of dedication and participation varies:

  • Speed Dating Reverse:

We organize group sessions in which young people from educational centers participate in dynamics and conversations with volunteer professionals to learn first-hand about different profiles and career paths. The activity takes place at the facilities of the collaborating company, is carried out during working hours and requires a dedication of approximately 5 hours.

We develop an individual accompaniment program in which we assign each young person a company volunteer who acts as his or her coach during the project’s itinerary. Throughout six structured sessions, we create a space of trust to work on interests, skills and future expectations through conversations, reflection dynamics and experiences of approaching the work environment, such as workshops, interview simulations or visits to the workplace.

With this accompaniment we seek to broaden horizons, strengthen the confidence of young people and help them make decisions about their academic and professional future. The total dedication for volunteers is approximately 20 working hours distributed throughout the six sessions.
